Feb 25th Opening: Jamrozik and Marszewski's

This Thursday (C)TAS will present new paintings by Anja Jamrozik as well as Lead Figures by the Marszewski's in the Display Case Gallery. Please join us for a fun night in the loop!
OPENING RECEPTION
Thursday / February 25th / 4:30 - 8:30
Show runs through March 3rd
Anja Jamrozik was born in Kraków, Poland in 1986. She spent two years in Chicago before leaving to live on the east coast for the next dozen years. During that time she lived in Pennsylvania and Connecticut and completed a degree in psychology and cognitive science at McGill University in Montréal. She returned to Chicago to pursue a doctorate degree in cognitive psychology at Northwestern University where she studies abstract and relational language. Her interest in language and painting stems from their ability to highlight certain details of a scene while obscuring others. This is her first time showing in Chicago.
Just added!
Drawings by Jamie Drier

We just added a few drawings to the show. Another reason to stop by the space this week.

Call for Performance Art
Dear friends,
I am posting an open call for artists who include performative art into their work, whether it be narrative, video, new media, technological, comedy, or just straight up repetitious. The exhibition will be sometime in March, though I haven't set a date. It will take place, here, at the (Con)temporary Art Space, Chicago. Please email me if you are interested. This will be a one-night event in which we will all gather and absorb the installation/performance/video/new media work of artists in Chicago and beyond!
